What youth need most

Youth ministry has always held a special place in my heart. Not just because I serve as Youth Director, but because my own faith journey began at a youth camp, where I was first introduced to the Gospel in a way that I could understand. That moment marked the beginning of my walk with Christ.

Throughout my youth, God has graciously surrounded me with faithful mentors and friends who have encouraged me, held me accountable, and helped me grow. These relationships have endured for more than two decades, across three continents. The lessons I learned in youth, such as finding my identity in Christ, prioritising daily time with God through his Word, and seeking Christian community through church. These should be the first things I look for, no matter what part of the world God leads me to. They have become the foundation of my faith. These truths didn’t sink in overnight; they were nurtured through Scripture, the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and leaders who invested their time and their patience with love.

Together, let's partner to build God's kingdom through the youth ministry

Today, our youth at St. Andrew’s need this same life-changing discipleship more than ever. In a world where social media, sports, and countless other voices compete for their attention, we’re committed to introducing them to the unchanging truth of God’s Word—the one voice that can anchor their lives and provide true meaning.

This semester we’re taking our youth through the entire Bible, helping them see God’s redemptive plan and the good news from Genesis to Revelation. Our goal is to strengthen their foundation so they can ask tough questions now, while surrounded by support and leaders who really care for them, rather than searching for answers later in places that may lead them astray.

We also want a youth group to be a welcoming space where teens feel safe, accepted, and excited to invite friends (Christian or not). Alongside Bible study, we’ll have fun events: summer camps, movie nights, sleepovers, discipleship groups, and outings to build relationships and help them grow in love for Jesus.

We Need You! None of this happens without committed volunteers. While we do have a committed team of volunteers, we need more of you! As Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers…” (Matt. 9:37-38).

If you feel called or willing to help disciple the youth, please sign up or reach out, I’d love to chat with you. Together, let’s partner to build God’s kingdom through the youth ministry.
