Annual Church Meeting

Many of you have shared with me how encouraged you’ve been with the resumption of our Sunday services. Whilst we’ve still been able to meet, learn, and grow online, it’s much better when we’re together. Christian community is all about God’s people serving and encouraging one another, using the gifts he’s given us, as we follow Jesus together for God’s glory.

An important event in the life of our church community is the Annual Church Meeting (ACM) coming up on the 23rd of May.

Christian community is all about God’s people serving and encouraging one another...

One of the main tasks of the ACM is to elect the Church Council. The Council is made up of twelve Council Members, two Trustees, and is chaired by the Vicar. The Council has a delegated authority relating specifically to the care of church property and the provision of the administration and finances of the church. The Council meets monthly.

The Council Members represent the members of St Andrews. Aside from giving their expertise for the proper functioning of the church’s operations, they also give a voice to congregational matters and provide lay-pastoral leadership. I want to warmly encourage you to pray for Council and get to know its members. You can speak with them about matters that you want raised at Council.

At the ACM, Church members also have an opportunity to ask questions or raise concerns.  We also reflect on the past year and look forward to the next year. More particularly, we seek God’s wisdom on how we can together use what he has given each of us for the service of his Kingdom.

We warmly encourage you to be involved in our ACM. How can you do this?

Firstly, if you consider St Andrew’s your spiritual home in HK, make sure you sign up to the Electoral Roll (ER). To do this, you need to be a baptized Christian, attending St Andrew’s regularly for over 3 months, and not a member of another church. To sign up to the ER, please ask at the Welcome Desk after church. Second, please make sure you come along to the ACM at 2pm on 23 May. Third, pray for the Council and the election of Council Members.

If you have any questions, please do talk to any of our staff after the service.
