Prayer Points

PRAISE GOD FOR WHO HE IS

“As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure” (Psalm 18:30-32). Give that God is our rock and our refuge, he brings deliverance and salvation. As we’ve been learning from the Book of Esther, let us look to God’s sovereignty and providential care, and learn to walk with him in trust and obedience in every situation of life.

THE WORLD

Myanmar. In our cycle of prayers for the world, pray for Myanmar. In this war-torn country, pray for the restraint of violence, for a society of justice, and for the military authorities to seek the good of the people. Pray for lasting solutions to be found for the thousands of Rohingya refugees who’ve had to flee Myanmar to Bangladesh. Pray for their provision and protection. Praise God for the growth of the church in Myanmar despite great persecution, poverty and isolation. Pray for continued perseverance for Christians and that they would be salt and light.

Ongoing conflicts. Continue to pray for areas of current conflict and war: for Iran, Lebanon, Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Pray for the protection of innocents, for humanitarian aid to reach those in need, and for lasting solutions to hostilities.

Hong Kong

Pray for the poor across our city. Pray for wise and effective government policies to meet the needs of the poor, for better health and education support, for provision of employment and suitable income, and that the voice of those in need would be better heard. Pray for the reduction in the immense gap between the rich and poor in HK.

Pray for the witness of Christians in the workplace across the city. Pray that in our vocations, we would work with integrity, excellence, and humility, seeking to use our skills for the good of the communities around us. Pray that our conduct in the workplace would be marked by grace, treating our co-workers with respect; that we would joyfully persevere during hardship; and that we would shine the light of the gospel through our words and conduct, that people would see our hope in Jesus and seek after him.

ST ANDREW'S

Kidzone and Youth. Give thanks for our Kidzone and Youth ministries: for the opportunities that we have to teach and encourage our children in the faith; and for the ministry of the leaders and volunteers. Pray that as these ministries resume next Sunday, God’s word would be faithfully taught and modelled by leaders; that faith will grow in our children’s hearts, as they learn to live for Jesus.

Parents. Pray for parents at St Andrew’s as they seek to raise their children in the love and knowledge of Jesus. Pray that our homes can be places of prayer, bible reading, and spiritual discussions. Pray that parents are able to model to their children what it looks like to prioritize Jesus and to commit all our ways to the Lord.
