THINKING OF MISSION, SHORT-TERM OR LONG-TERM?

If you think God is nudging you towards mission, what do you need to do?

Talk to the Director of Mission or the Vicar and share your burden and thoughts. Together we can try  to discern, guide and encourage you to use your full potential for God.

Investigate organizations or opportunities to serve, and ask for a reference from the church leadership.

If you are accepted by the church to work as our mission partner, we would require you to undergo some training together with the Director of Mission in order to prepare you and help you cope with the adjustments that will need to made in your life. We would also consider together your financial needs and prayerfully take them to the church.

Commissioning then is a natural part of the church’s responsibility of sending you to serve. If the church leadership discerns it is right that we send you, you will be commissioned during the worship service to which you belong.

Whilst you are away it is important that you keep in regular contact with us as your sending church. You would be expected to send regular prayer letters and reports, and when returning back from a short-term mission, or on furlough for long-termers,  we would want to give you a chance to feed back to the church what you have been doing and how we can better pray for you.

Once returning from mission, we would want to help in your debriefing and resettling process. Pastoral care will be available, and opportunity to report back to the church.
