Fellowship
In
St. Andrews Church we want to encourage a sense of belonging
because we believe that Christians are not meant to go it
alone but rather to be together and to share their lives. In a
church as big as St. Andrews this is particularly important if
people are not to feel lost in the big crowd. So if you have
committed your life to Jesus Christ, we encourage you not only to
become a regular Sunday worshipper, but also to join a small
fellowship group a home group where you can get to know
people, make real friends, receive and give mutual support, pray for
one another and learn together. Our aim therefore is that all church
members will also be members of a home group.
Because people
often have particular pastoral needs, the church also aims to care
for individuals and families through Family Ministry, Stephen
Ministry, Inner Healing Prayer and general pastoral support.
The Associate Minister, Wing-On Pang has responsibility for
this area of ministry and under him, Family
Ministry, couples' support, parents and those considering
marriage. Click on Our People
or Multi-Groups to find out more.
Our
Core Values
MEMBERSHIP
How can I
Become A Member of St. Andrew's Church?
Essentially you
are a member if you worship at St. Andrew's regularly and have made
it your spiritual home, where you intend to grow and mature in
Christ.
If you want to
be a voting member, you need to join our Electoral Roll - in which
case you have to be already baptized, at least 18 years of age, and
not having your name entered on the roll of any other church in Hong
Kong. Confirmation as an Anglican is also encouraged for all
Electoral Roll members. The Electoral Roll is updated every
year just before the Annual General Meeting. Application forms
to sign can be obtained from the Church Office.
The five
responsibilities of an active member are:
-
To
worship regularly (weekly if possible) in church
-
To
pray regularly for the church
-
To
join a homegroup of the Church
-
To
plan prayerfully your giving to the church
-
To
find and area of service in the church (and/or beyond)
