CONSIDERING MARRIAGE?
We at St. Andrew's believe
marriage to be one of God's greatest gifts to mankind. It is our
goal as a church to see committed Christian couples getting married,
setting up home and bringing up children to know and love him.
Marriage is not something to be taken lightly, nor is it something
to avoid or to be scared of. It needs prayer and preparation on a
spiritual and emotional level as well as a practical one. The Bible
teaches that sex is a gift from God but that its place is within the
safety and security of marriage. As such, therefore, co-habitation
is not an option for Christians and we expect those preparing for
marriage at St. Andrew's to accept this. Our pre-marriage preparation
course is now required for Church members wishing to be married and
takes around 6 months. We aim to link up each engaged couple with an
older, trained mentor couple who can help them look at the strengths
and areas for growth in their relationship as well as prepare them
for marriage. This couple will also be available for help and
support once the wedding is over and married life begins. If you are
in a serious relationship please come and talk to Wing-On so
that we can help and encourage you at this exciting time in your
life.
