St.
Andrew’s Church Policy on Wedding Bookings
St.
Andrew’s Church is an Anglican English speaking Church.
The Anglican policy on wedding bookings is as follows:-
-
All
the weddings that take place in the Church have to be taken by Anglican
pastors and follow Anglican rites.
-
The
couple are baptised Christians.
One of them must be a member of an Anglican Church.
-
The
Anglican pastor must have an ongoing pastoral relationship with the
couple.
-
The
Anglican pastor will prepare the couple for marriage.
Booking
Procedure
-
St.
Andrew’s Church may be used for a Marriage Service or a Service of
Blessing at the request of an Anglican pastor of the Diocese of Hong
Kong and Macau.
-
Provisional
booking can be made by phone and must be confirmed in writing within 7
days by the officiating Anglican pastor.

The
date of booking can not be confirmed more than nine months in advance.

The
couple are required to fill in a booking form at the Church Office when
the booking is confirmed. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the
booking fee is required at the time of booking.

For
the Wedding Ceremony: The couple are required to register at Marriage
Registry and obtain a certificate of Registration of Marriage which
needs to be submitted to the Church office 7 days before the wedding.

For
a Service of Blessing: The couple are required to submit a photocopy of
their marriage certificate to the Church Office at least 7 days before
their service.

Please
appoint a person-in-charge of your wedding on the day.
Facilities
available for booking for wedding
Church
Sanctuary
The
Church Sanctuary
can seat a maximum of 400
people. There is a room at the
left front of the Church which can be used as the bride’s room.

microphones, air-conditioning,
an
“Allen Digital Computer” organ, and a Yamaha grand piano are available
for use.
Other things provided are: kneelers, red carpet, pen for signing the
marriage certificate, reception tables.
However no table clothes will be provided.
Church
Hall (for tea reception)
The
Church
Hall is the only facility available for holding a tea reception and it can
seat a maximum of 100
people.
2 microphones, air-conditioning, an upright piano, 10 tables and 150 chairs
are available for use.
Kitchen
(for preparation for the tea reception)
A
gas stove, a refrigerator, a kettle and a working table are available for
use. No other utensils in the
Kitchen can be used. Only
pre-cooked food and drinks can be fixed or arranged.
Booking
fees and Payment
Church
Sanctuary
$6,000
To include 2
hours & 15 minutes of use (preparation and service); the use of organ, piano, 3
microphones; one rehearsal (once before the wedding for 1.5
hours) and gratuities to the staff.
Air-conditioning
$2,000
Multi-media
projection system $500
Unavoidable overtime (per hour or part of hour) $1,000
No flower bell or decorations will be provided.
Church
Hall
$2,500
To
include 4 hours of use (including preparation time and clearing up), the use
of piano, kitchen, 2 microphones, tables and chairs.
Air-conditioning
$500
Multi-media projection system $200
Overtime (per hour or part of hour) $500
Payment
-
Payment
should be made by crossed cheque to
St.
Andrew’s Church.
-
A
non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total charge should be paid at the
time of booking. The final
payment must be paid 2 weeks before the wedding.
If not, the booking will be assumed to be cancelled.

In
the case of cancellation of booking, with at least 1 month’s notice,
50% of the total charge will be refunded.
-
A
cash bond of $500.00 must be lodged.
This will be refunded, provided that all booking requirements are
satisfactorily fulfilled, 7 days after the wedding.
General
information and rules on using the facilities
-
The
Facilities
are available
for booking except
on Sundays
and labour
holidays, and when there is a Church function.
The Church Sanctuary may not be booked from the 2nd weekend in December
until 26th December inclusive.
The timings
for
booking
on Saturday
are as follow:-
1st
session: 1.15-3.30pm
(Church Sanctuary)
1.00-5.00pm
(Church
Hall)
2nd
session: 3.30-5.45pm
(Church Sanctuary
only)
The time above already include
preparation, so no earlier entry to any of these facilities will be
allowed.

You
can book the rehearsal with the Church Office before the wedding.
Times not
available
for rehearsal are : Thursday, Friday, Saturday evening and Sunday.

The
service order and the decoration plan must be submitted to the Church
Office for approval at least 2 months before the wedding.
-
Parking
spaces are available for the bridal party on
the wedding day. Eight
parking permits will be sent to you the week before your wedding.
You are required to display them on the windscreen of your cars.
Please notify your guests that no parking facilities is provided
under any circumstances.
No parking facility will be provided for rehearsal.

The
sound system of the Church Sanctuary is operated in an automatic mode.
No sound operator is needed.
If you require a more sophisticated sound setting up, the Church
Office can arrange an approved sound operator for you at the cost of
HK$500. Private arrangement
is not allowed. CDs
can be played with prior request.
-
Video
recording during the service is allowed with the consent of the
officiating pastor.
-
The
furniture in the Church Sanctuary
must not be moved under any circumstances.
The furniture in the Church
Hall must be carried (not dragged across the floor) and the piano and
stage must not be moved.
No table or chair is allowed to put outdoor on the church
grounds.

You
are not allowed to use candle, confetti, rice or paper crackers in the church
premises and grounds.
-
You
must not fix anything to any door, wall or blinds
without the Church’s permission.
-
The
Church do not have any room to store things for your wedding, please
bring them on the day.
-
Photo
taking after the service in the Church grounds is allowed and will not
be charged as overtime.
-
All
rubbish must be put in self-provided plastic bags, sealed and taken down
to the rubbish bins.
-
No
smoking is permitted indoors. Noise
should be kept at a reasonable level so that you do not disturb others
in the building.
-
The
caretaker will be around to allow access to the facilities and lock up
afterwards.
The
couple are responsible for explaining the above rules to their guests and
for seeing that they are followed. St.
Andrew's Church reserves its right to bill your party for any damage or
theft resulting from your use of its facilities.
St.
Andrew's Church is not responsible for any belongings of those using the
premises.
